Dr. Ileana Rodríguez Standal is a specialist in plastic surgery and hand surgery. She consults patients on lipedema, skin correction surgery after major weight loss, liposuction, fat grafting, eyelid surgery, breast surgery, gynecomastia, general scar corrections, skin cancer, and wound treatment. She is one of the very few surgeons in Norway who treats patients who have previously undergone liposuction and who experience irregularities in the skin and subcutaneous tissue using the liposhifting method.
Dr. Standal is Norway's first and currently only surgeon appointed as a Clinical Expert in Lipedema.
Background
Dr. Standal has a particular interest in lipedema, fat transfer, post-bariatric surgery, and eyelid surgery. She is also an active lecturer and teacher in several areas of plastic surgery.
Ileana received her medical training in Cuba and specialized in plastic and hand surgery in Norway, gaining work experience at Haukeland, Rikshospitalet, and Telemark hospitals, among others. She is a member of the Norwegian Medical Association, the Norwegian Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the Spanish Medical Association.
