GD Tone Up — a photobooster for a healthy glow, an even skin tone, and improved skin quality

Give your skin a fresh start this spring with our new GD Tone Up treatment—an advanced photobooster treatment that delivers a healthy glow, an even skin tone, and improved skin quality. The treatment combines active ingredients with medical-grade laser technology to provide maximum results—with minimal downtime.

GD Tone Up is a modern photobooster treatment that combines active ingredients with medical-grade laser technology. It is effective for treating redness, acne, hyperpigmentation, fine lines, and improving overall skin quality. The treatment uses FDA-approved technology and is administered by a cosmetic nurse at TBL Medical in Bergen.

What is a photobooster—and why is it so effective?

A photobooster is a treatment in which active ingredients are applied to the skin and then activated and work more deeply with the help of a laser. This allows the skin to derive maximum benefit from the ingredients, while the laser stimulates skin renewal and collagen production.

With GD Tone Up, we combine the best of both worlds:

  • Skin-enhancing ingredients that work within the skin—gold microparticles, diamond microparticles, and pigment-regulating agents
  • Medical laser that enhances the effect and provides deeper stimulation

The result is a treatment that offers more than a standard facial—but with less downtime than many traditional laser treatments.

What is the difference between GD Tone Up and Carbon Peel?

This is a common question—and although both treatments use some form of “boost” in conjunction with laser, they are quite different.

GD Tone Up (Photo Booster)

  • Provides deep-acting skin-improving and therapeutic benefits
  • Delivers active ingredients that are absorbed into the skin
  • Focus on radiance, even skin tone, pigmentation, and skin quality
  • A gentler and more "supportive" approach over time

Carbon Peel

  • Has a more cleansing and exfoliating effect on the skin's surface
  • Carbon attracts sebum and impurities, which are "blasted away" by the laser
  • Focus on pore cleansing, acne, and oily skin
  • Provides an immediate "clean" feeling, but with less depth

In short:

Carbon Peel = deep cleansing
GD Tone Up = deep skin improvement and radiance

Why is GD Tone Up perfect for spring?

After winter, skin is often dry, dull, and uneven. GD Tone Up helps to:

  • Restore radiance and moisture balance
  • Even out your skin tone
  • Reduce redness and blemishes
  • Prepare your skin for summer

This makes the treatment ideal for those who want a fresh start in the spring and to show off clear, glowing skin this summer.

Who is this treatment suitable for?

GD Tone Up is suitable for most skin types (Fitzpatrick I–IV) and is particularly well-suited for those who want to:

  • Reduce redness and sensitivity
  • Treat acne and sebum production
  • Improve skin texture and pores
  • Working with fine lines
  • Reduce pigmentation and melasma
  • Get more glow

This treatment is suitable both as a targeted treatment for specific skin conditions and as a regular maintenance regimen for clear, healthy skin.

Who should not take this medication?

  • Allergy to gold
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding (to be assessed on a case-by-case basis)
  • Sunbathing or use of self-tanning products in the past 2 weeks
  • Use of photosensitive medications (isotretinoin, antibiotics, anti-inflammatory drugs, antihistamines)
  • Active skin infection or irritation in the area

During the consultation, we’ll assess whether GD Tone Up is right for your skin, or if another treatment would be a better fit.

Here’s how a GD Tone Up treatment works

Step 1: Consultation and preparation (10 min)

We assess your skin, review your health questionnaire, and thoroughly cleanse your skin. Makeup, lotion, and oil are removed to ensure the ingredients work effectively.

Step 2: Application of the photobooster (5 min)

Apply GD Tone Up evenly to the skin with a brush—distribute 1.5 ml over the entire treatment area. A thin black-and-gold layer forms on the skin; leave it on for 2–3 minutes.

Step 3: Laser activation (30–45 min)

We treat the skin using medical lasers from our extensive range of laser equipment. We select the appropriate laser system and settings based on your skin type and the desired results. The laser activates the active ingredients, gently removes the outer layer of skin, and stimulates collagen production in the deeper layers of the skin.

Step 4: Finishing (10 min)

We remove any residue, apply a soothing cream and sunscreen. You’ll receive personalized home care recommendations based on your skin type.

Treatment process

Total treatment time per session: approx. 1 hour. We recommend a course of 5–10 treatments, spaced 1–3 weeks apart, for best results.

What can you expect after treatment?

Shortly after

You may experience slight redness and a sensation of warmth in the skin, but this will subside quickly. Mild sensitivity is normal. Most people return to their normal activities the same day.

After the first treatments

Many people notice an immediate glow and smoother skin texture. The effects build up gradually with each treatment.

Throughout the treatment

  • A more even skin tone and a healthier glow
  • Clearer skin with fewer blemishes
  • Gradual improvement in skin quality
  • Reduction in redness and pigmentation

Long-term effect

After completing the treatment course, you can expect a significant improvement in skin tone and skin quality. Maintenance treatments 1–2 times a year are recommended to maintain the results.

Results vary from person to person and depend on skin type, severity, and follow-up care.

Preparation for treatment

Before each treatment

  • Avoid sunbathing and self-tanning for 1–2 weeks
  • Avoid strong active ingredients (retinol, acids) a few days beforehand

After each treatment

  • Always use SPF 30–50
